The loss of GALWAY LINE´s CONNAUGHT intrigued me after a friends sending of a copy of  GALWAY ADVERTISER of Thu, Sep 15, 2016, about . Intuiged by an earlier finding about, I started a research for this article. The loss of the ps CONNAUGHT , ATLANTIC ROYAL MAIL STEAM NAVIGATION Co. or GALWAY LINE , October 8th 1860. The CONNAUGHT was launched to reverse the sliding fortunes of the J Orwell Lever’s GALWAY LINE, and had a severe blow to the company. Cruise Newbuilts - CELEBRITY EDGE Class

The CELEBRITY EDGE is the first of a class of five new ships for CELEBRITY after nearly a decade. With 117,000 GT the EDGE class ships are slightly maller than the SOLSTICE class , 121,000 GT and 2,852 pax. All five ships are being built at STX in France. The second ship, CELEBRITY BEYOND, is scheduled to debut in spring 2020. The two yet-unnamed ships will sail in fall 2021 and spring 2022. Heritage - Voyage of the Damned on St.LOUIS

St.LOUIS sailed in May 1939 with Jewish refugees to Cuba, a voyage known today as the VOAYAGE of the DAMNED. On May 13, 1939, the German liner St.LOUIS sailed from Hamburg, Germany, for Havana, Cuba. On the voyage were 937 passengers. Almost all were Jews fleeing from the Third Reich. Most were German citizens, some were from eastern Europe, and a few were officially "stateless". Over years, in my early youth, the QUEEN ELIZABETH was shaping my mind for the perfect ocean liner, despite having made my first experiences with a liner onboard the HANSEATIC (1), ex EMPRESS OF SCOTLAND, ex EMPRESS OF JAPAN. Transatlantic - OCEAN STEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY, New York, 1846-1857

The OCEANSTEAM NAVIGATION COMPANY was the first United States flag Transatlantic steamship company to offer regularly scheduled transatlantic service to continental Europe.
