A gay marriage on board a ship is the dream of many, which became an offer onboard many cruise ships, depending on the law of the flag state.

Malta finally follows EU same sex law

Equal rights despite of sexual orientation, nationality, believes, etc.
The motion follows a trans formative vote in Malta, where a majority of the CELEBRITY CRUISES fleet is registered - Malta represents a flag of convenience - which passed the country's parliament 66-1. The long-awaited referendum opens the door for CELEBRITY to legally recognize same-sex marriages performed onboard, and have the fleet's captains officiate the ceremonies.

"CELEBRITY CRUISES has a long history of supporting the LGBTQ+ community, and I cannot think of a more important time in our history than right now to do all we can to support inclusion. I am absolutely thrilled to announce that starting today (Oct. 9th), we welcome same-sex couples to marry on our ships while in international waters," said Lisa Lutoff-Perlo, President and CEO, CELEBRITY CRUISES. "This is one for the history books!"

"CELEBRITY Weddings has already hosted many same-sex weddings in the U.S., Mexico, and the Caribbean, where legal," said Barbara Whitehall, Managing Director, The Wedding Experience. "We are ecstatic that this new Malta ruling opens up marriage equality for anyone and everyone sailing with CELEBRITY Cruises while in international waters."
The CELEBRITY Weddings program for all marriages offers onboard ceremonies and destination weddings for lovebirds. The Nautical Nuptials at Sea package includes a Captain-led ceremony, an event coordinator's services, live music, one hour of photography, cake for two, bottle of Champagne, a bouquet and boutonniere, plus additional romantic turn down amenities post-ceremony.

CELEBRITY CRUISES is widening its customer base

While the move is in first place a pro gay statement, and accepting of facts, it is too the marketing department´s attempt to widen the customer vase of premium market cruise company CELEBRITY. the premium of mass market companies need to gain for each coming sailing new customers, despite their repeaters.
And gays can become very strong repeaters, especially when they are respected and well served, as each other guest on board.

The vessel got implemented technologies that would have been copied by others, who then claimed to be the first to have. Alternative facts are not a modern days invention of a certain chrétien and his backward oriented entourage ... NORMANDIE´s interior was the peak of ART DECO in France, and was, still is, the peak of chic. PONANT , France's number 2 cruise company and world leader in polar expeditions celebrates 30 years of existence. The Australian luxury day express train SPIRIT OF PROGRESS was the most important express train of VICTORIAN RAILWAYS , a state corporation of Victoria , and one of the most important trains in Down Under. The train is a masterpiece of ART DÉCO design from Down Under. The widely unknown train was in service from 1937 till 1986. First the SPIRIT OF PROGRESS did run from Melbourne to Albury , because of the broad gauge of VICTORIA RAILWAYS (1,600 mm).
