CORAL EXPEDITIONS announced September 11th, 2017, that it had signed a contract with VARD
to build its fourth expedition cruise ship for 120 passengers due to be delivered in Q1
2019, with a further vessel intended to follow. "The ship will be build at VARD VUNG TAU in Vietnam," VARD said, in a statement. The
vessel, measuring 93.5mtr with a beam of 17.2mtr, will be developed by
VARD DESIGN in Norway in close cooperation with CORAL EXPEDITIONS.
VARD is a subsidiary of FINCANTIERI, that has some "off-shore" ship construction sites.

This new ship is designed for ocean voyages to remote areas
inaccessible to large cruise vessels, CORAL EXPEDITIONS said, in a
prepared statement. CORAL EXPEDITIONS is known for its cruises to the Great Barrier Reef and its islands. CORAL EXPEDITIONS says: "The ship will be Australian flagged and

Custom-designed around its clientele and expedition-focused
itineraries, the new ship will feature several of CORAL EXPEDITIONS’ key

- Twin Xplorer tenders mounted on hydraulic platforms that allow guests to embark and disembark for shore excursions without steps or waiting in line - to be seen in the picture above
- A natural light-filled lecture lounge equipped with modern technology for daily presentations and briefings by expedition experts

- Spacious communal areas, including a relaxed dining area which seats all guests
- All outside-facing cabins with en-suite bathrooms; over half will have private balconies

the colours and textures of Queensland, the birthplace of the company. True to the CORAL EXPEDITIONS business concept, the ship
environment is geared for daily shore expeditions, lectures and

The ship will join CORAL EXPEDITIONS´ fleet exploring the
Kimberley region, Cape York and Arnhem Land (The Top of Australia),
Papua New Guinea, the Spice Islands, Indonesia and the South Pacific.

The newbuild is CORAL EXPEDITIONS´s fourth cruise ship with a further vessel from VARD intended to follow.
